    POSITION OVERVIEW
  • Serve as Head Coach for the Intercollegiate Athletic Team. Support and uphold a philosophy of athletics consistent with that of UCSD Athletic Department. Organize and conduct practices, conditioning programs, competitive events and fund-raising events. Administrative responsibilities include competitive scheduling, budget development and implementation, inventory of equipment and supplies, coordination of team, professional and recruit travel, and all rules compliance requirements. Coordinate contest/event, tournament management, recruitment of student-athletes, and basic knowledge of and compliance with all NCAA regulations.

    f. Maintain current eligibility list and team roster, and communicate changes and additions to Compliance Coordinator. M

    h. Ensure that athletes provide appropriate insurance, eligibility, participation and academic history forms and information prior to start of season, and with sufficient time for departmental action and approvals. Y

    i. Ensure that athletes provide appropriate liability waiver forms if they are anticipated to be driving to away contests. Y

    j. Complete end-of-season report and submit it to Supervisor within one month of end of season. Y

    k. Ensure that students are assembled to complete coaching and program evaluations within one month of end of season. Y

    l. Ensure the return of equipment and uniforms by athletes; complete inventory by end of fiscal year. Y

    m. Submit final statistics to Sports Information office by end of season. Y

      Prior experience teaching/coaching/competing at collegiate level in a specified sport.
